Carteret Health Care, located at 3500 Arendell Street in Morehead City, and CHC Cardiovascular Specialists, located at 211-B Professional Circle in Morehead City, have each earned a three-year accreditation in Echocardiography from the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC). This dual recognition highlights Carteret Health Care’s continued commitment to providing exceptional, patient-centered cardiovascular care for the communities of eastern North Carolina.

Echocardiography is a vital diagnostic tool used to assess the heart’s structure and function and can detect early signs of heart disease — the leading cause of death for men and women in the United States. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, one American dies every 34 seconds from cardiovascular disease, underscoring the importance of high-quality heart imaging close to home.

Achieving IAC accreditation reflects the extensive training and expertise of Carteret Health Care’s cardiologists, sonographers, and cardiopulmonary staff, as well as their dedication to maintaining the highest standards in imaging technology and clinical processes.

To earn this accreditation, both Carteret Health Care and CHC Cardiovascular Specialists underwent a rigorous application and review process, including a detailed self-evaluation and an external assessment conducted by a panel of medical experts.
