Carteret Health Care Home Health & Hospice has earned the 2024 SHPBest^TMPremier Performer Patient Experience Award for Home Health ANDthe 2024 SHPBest^TMPremier Performer Caregiver Experience Award for Hospice….TOP 5% for both Lines of Business (Home Health & Hospice)

Morehead City, NC  September 2025 – Carteret Health Care Home Health & Hospice has been recognized by Strategic Healthcare Programs (SHP) as a “Premier Performer” for achieving an overall patient, caregiver, and family experience score that ranked in the top 5% of all eligible SHP clients for the 2024 calendar year, in both the Home Health and the Hospice service lines.

The annual SHPBest™ award program was created to acknowledge Home Health and Hospice providers that consistently provide high quality service to their patients, families, and caregivers of patients receiving home health and hospice care. 

For Home Health, the 2024 award recipients were determined by reviewing and ranking the overall experience score for more than 3,200 home health providers. For Hospice, the 2024 award recipients were determined by reviewing and ranking the overall CAHPS Hospice caregiver experience score for more than 1,800 hospice providers. With the largest CAHPS benchmark in the nation, SHP is in a unique position to identify and recognize organizations that have made patient experience a priority and have been rewarded for their efforts with high marks on the CAHPS surveys.

In addition to all the services offered by our Home Health team, Hospice care provides crucial support like chaplain services, volunteer support, and bereavement outreach for families for 13 months following a patient's passing.
