Carteret Health Care Earns an ‘A’ Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group

November 13, 2025 – Carteret Health Care has earned an “A” Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group, an independent national nonprofit watchdog focused on patient safety.

This top grade recognizes Carteret Health Care’s ongoing dedication to protecting patients from preventable harm and delivering the highest standards of quality and safety. The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is the nation’s only rating program focused exclusively on medical errors, infections, and injuries that can occur in hospitals.

Leapfrog assigns letter grades — “A,” “B,” “C,” “D,” or “F” — to general hospitals across the country based on more than 30 measures of errors, accidents, injuries, and infections, as well as the systems hospitals have in place to prevent them. The program is peer-reviewed, fully transparent, and free to the public, with grades updated twice each year in the spring and fall.
