Faster Recovery, Greater Precision:

Carteret Health Care is proud to now offer the Intuitive da Vinci 5® surgical system, further advancing the technology available for minimally invasive care. The da Vinci 5 is the most advanced and integrated surgical platform—designed to transform surgery with better outcomes, greater efficiency, and real-time surgical insights.

“At Carteret Health Care, we’re committed to bringing leading-edge technology to our community, ensuring our patients have access to advanced surgical care right here at home,” shared Kyle Marek, Carteret Health Care CEO and President. “We are incredibly excited to be using the da Vinci 5 surgical system. The da Vinci is an investment in better outcomes, faster recoveries, and a stronger future for surgical care in Carteret County.”

The da Vinci 5 system is already being used at Carteret Health Care and offers the capability to perform a broad range of minimally invasive procedures across urology, gynecology, thoracic surgery, general surgery, and more. With more than 150 new design innovations, the system enhances surgical precision through wristed instruments, 3DHD visualization, intuitive motion, and an ergonomic design that improves both patient outcomes and surgeon experience.

Key features include:
• First-of-its-kind Force Feedback technology, helping to minimize pressure on tissues
• Optimized 3D vision with enhanced color, clarity, and image resolution
• Improved ergonomics for surgeon comfort and focus
• Over 10,000x the computing power of previous models, providing real-time, actionable insights

As Carteret Health Care continues expanding its robotic-assisted surgical program, the da Vinci 5 will support a growing list of procedures, including:
• Bariatric (weight loss) surgery
• Hysterectomy
• Colorectal surgery
• Prostate procedures
• Hernia repairs
• Thoracic (chest/lung) surgeries
• And more

This future-ready platform is already advancing surgical care in Carteret County and will continue to bring expanded options for patients close to home.
Marek concluded, “This is about more than just technology, it’s about providing excellent patient care and building for the next generation of healthcare.”
