About Earl

Earl Frantz, DO, is a graduate of Central Michigan University and Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his residency in family medicine at Naval Hospital Jacksonville, Florida.

Dr. Frantz served in the U. S. Navy for twenty years, including deployment on the USS Acadia during Desert Storm/Shield, and was the Clinical Director and Senior Medical Officer of the Naval Branch Clinic in Dahlgren, Virginia. He also served overseas as the Department Head, Family Medicine at US Naval Hospital Guam.

Dr. Frantz then completed a sports medicine fellowship at the University of San Diego and Camp Pendleton, California. He deployed in Operation Enduring Freedom as a concussion specialist and the head of the Concussion Center for the Marine Corps at Camp Leatherneck, Afghanistan. He completed his naval career as the department head of sports medicine at Naval Hospital Camp Lejeune.

Board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine with a Certificate of Added Qualification in Sports Medicine, Dr. Frantz has a broad range of orthopedic and primary care experience and knowledge. A family medicine physician at heart, he enjoys providing care to all age groups for any muscle skeletal issue. Dr. Frantz has also been one of the leading military physicians on developing strategies for the treatment of concussions.

Dr. Frantz enjoys country living with his wife. They have four children, all grown and flown. He has a passion for his faith, family and serving others. He enjoys camping and hiking and visiting his family in his free time. He also serves various ministries locally. Serving the coastal region, Dr. Frantz offers convenient orthopedic care in Jacksonville, Morehead City, and Swansboro.
