Visitation Guidelines

Visitation to Carteret Health Care

Carteret Health Care is in the Green Level with Voluntary Masking for healthy patients, visitors and staff. Masks are offered at each entrance. Exceptions for masking may be needed for immune-compromised patients, suspected respiratory illness or exposure to COVID-19 as well as standard and transmission based precautions.
Thank you for helping keep our community, staff, patients and visitors safe.

The following visitation guidelines are in place:

• In-patients may have 2 - 4 healthy visitors in a room at a time. Overnight visitation may be requested for non-COVID patients.

  • Maternal Child Health: During Labor and Delivery, 2 adult visitors may be in the room at a time (3 to allow for certified doula). No children under 15 years of age during Labor and Delivery. Once recovered, postpartum patients may have siblings visit (additional details for visitation will be provided).
  • COVID inpatients may have 1 healthy, designated visitor after the visitor receives PPE training. A visitor for a COVID positive patient must be trained before visiting and use Personal Protective Equipment including mask, face shield, gloves and gown during the entire visit.

• Outpatient and Day Surgery patients may have two healthy visitors during time of care.

• Emergency patients may have two healthy visitors in the lobby or room at a time.

Thank you for understanding as we are trying to keep everyone safe.

We are adhering to the following visitor guidelines to give you access to your loved ones:

  • Inpatient recommended visitor hours are from 8 AM – 8 PM to allow for patient rest.
  • Visitors should check in and out through the main lobby and emergency entrance.
  • Visitors should clean their hands before and after entering a patient room.

End of life patients may have up to 6 visitors in the room at a time.

As always, it is our priority to provide you with quality healthcare with exceptional compassion and respect.

Virtual visitation with family members is also offered to communicate with patients and can be coordinated by calling the Clinical Coordinator on duty at 499-6559 or using personal devices.

We want to keep you and your loved ones healthy and safe.
