Research and Innovation

At Carteret Health Care, we take pride in offering some of the most cutting-edge treatment options available through our clinical trials program.

Clinical research refers to studies and experiments conducted on human subjects to test new medical treatments, drugs, devices, or procedures. Clinical trials are a type of clinical research that involves testing the safety and efficacy of new medical interventions on human subjects under controlled conditions.

Clinical trials are designed to answer specific research questions and are conducted in several phases. The first phase involves testing the intervention on a small group of healthy volunteers to determine its safety and dosage. In subsequent phases, larger groups of people with the specific condition being studied are recruited to assess the intervention's effectiveness and potential side effects.

Clinical trials are typically conducted according to strict guidelines and protocols set by regulatory agencies, such as the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), to ensure the safety and well-being of study participants. The results of clinical trials can provide valuable information to healthcare professionals, policymakers, and patients about the benefits and risks of new treatments, and help guide clinical practice and decision-making.

Advantages of Clinical Research:
Participating in clinical trials offers several benefits, including:
• Contributing to medical research and helping future generations by bringing new treatment options to market
• Better managing your disease or condition through access to potentially beneficial treatments
• Receiving closer monitoring and more frequent visits with specialized healthcare professionals who are knowledgeable about the latest treatments and research

At Carteret Health Care, we have participated in numerous clinical trials, including studies on approved medications such as Bempodoic acid, Semaglutide, Androgel, and many others. These studies have helped us gain valuable insights into new treatments and improve our ability to provide the best possible care to our patients.
