Expecting? Carteret Baby is a New Free Mobile App For Families

Morehead City, NC – Pregnant mothers in eastern North Carolina now have a new resource for a healthy pregnancy, the Carteret Health Care Baby app. Carteret Health Care (CHC) launched the app to help families track their baby's development throughout pregnancy, learn about pre and post natal care, newborn care, breast feeding, and become familiar with services offered at the Brady Birthing Center and in Carteret County.

“Expectant parents now have instant access to valuable pregnancy information” said Robin Mobley, Carteret Health Care Maternal Child Health Clinical Director. “They can track their pregnancy journey as well as learn about baby development, preparing for childbirth, and Birthing classes and Breastfeeding educational offerings at Carteret Health Care.”

The app helps mothers prepare for labor and delivery and also gives users specifics about staying in the Brady Birthing Center, including your hospital room and amenities and what to expect during and after delivery so that families can be as informed as possible.

Tools are also provided in the Carteret Baby app to help track your baby’s weekly development milestones, count kicks and time contractions as well as doctor appointments.

The Carteret Baby app comes after Carteret Health Care’s Brady Birthing Center became the first North Carolina hospital to increase infant safety with CertaScan footprint technology. It is an added assurance of the newborn’s safety even once the baby goes home. The CHC Brady Birthing Center aslo received the top recognition for being a North Carolina 5 Star Breast Feeding Friendly hospital. Equally notable is the Birthing Center’s promotion of Skin to Skin as it promotes bonding and early breastfeeding. All mothers are offered this same bonding opportunity, including C-Section mothers, who may choose a clear drape during delivery.

The app also offers more information about newborn care, what to expect following birth, breastfeeding tips, and local OB/GYN practices that deliver at Carteret Health Care.

“Almost 800 babies are born each year at Carteret Health Care and the Carteret Baby app is another example of how Carteret Health Care continuously raises the standard of care for our patients and families. We want to make sure our expectant families are prepared and confident when their new one arrives” concluded Mobley.
